INFO BOMARZO o DOVE SIAMO
Bomarzo è posto sulla riva sinistra del fiume Tevere, dominato dal
massiccio vulcanico dei monti Cimini che hanno dato origine allo
sperone roccioso di peperino su cui si colloca il paese. Situato in
posizione panoramica a 265 m s.l.m. ha una conformazione a cuneo
tipica delle urbanizzazioni laziali del medioevo, e si affaccia sulla
valle del Tevere e sull autostrada del sole a soli 6 Km dal casello
autostradale, proprio sopra Attigliano, che domina. Il nome Bomarzo
deriva dall'antico nome Polymartium - "Citta di Marte", forse perchè
in questi luoghi era sviluppato il culto di questo dio.
Il nostro Appartamento è posto ovviamente nel centro storico, proprio
in fondo al Paese, la finestra della camera da letto da su una piccola
piazzetta panoramica dalla quale si domina la valle Tiberina,
Attigliano, e i monti Appenini di fronte. Non è assolutamento un posto
di passaggio, generalmente il numero di persone che arriva in questa
piccola piazzetta/oasi di tranquillità è di circa 1-5 al giorno.
Per quanto riguarda la storia:
La svolta urbanistica che caratterizza ancora oggi Bomarzo venne data
nel 500
dagli Orsini. Giovanni Corrado Orsini infatti, condottiero di
successo, ottenne Bomarzo e Chia dalla divisione dei beni con lo zio
paterno Ulisse Orsini. Da vero signore illuminato Giovanni Corrado
inizia la nuova urbanizzazione di Bomarzo e acquista i terreni della
valletta sottostante dove il figlio Pierfrancesco nel 1552 realizzerà
il sacro bosco, l'attuale
parco dei Mostri. Il parco dei mostri è un'opera unica nel suo genere,
realizzata da Vicino Orsini, fine erudito, poeta e letterato, valente
condottiero, appasionato di esoterismo, dalla cui fervida
immaginazione scaturì l'idea di questa "villa delle meraviglie".
Gigantesche ed inquietanti figure in pietra, in origine colorate sono
disposte tra la vegetazione. Ignoti sono sia l'autore sia i
significati di queste inquietanti e bizzarre sculture che popolano
questo luogo, realizzate pare anche dall'architetto napoletano Pirro
Logorio. Da Bomarzo situata a pochi minuti dalla superstrada Terni
Civitavecchia si possono raggiungere facilmente Viterno, il Lago di
Vico,Soriano nel Cimino proprio in vetta al monte Cimino dove c'è la
faggeta più grande d'Europa, faggeta utilizzata dagli antichi romani
per costruire le navi dell'Impero, più a nord Montefiascone patria del
celebre vino Est Est Est, il lago di Bolsena, Orvieto, Porto Ercole.
Dall'altro lato verso Terni si è già in Umbria che tramite la strada
Tiberina E45 si può percorrere tutta fino ad arrivare a S.Marino, Fano,
il mare Adriatico. Scendendo ad Attigliano (6 Km) e imboccando
l'autostrada si arriva a Roma in 50 minuti.
CAMERE
La nostra offerta è costituita da 5 posti letto in un appartamentino
autonomo. Tre in una camera da Letto con finestra panoramica, (un
letto matrimoniale proprio sotto la finestra panoramica + un secondo
letto) Altri due posti sono nel soggiorno cucina in un divano
apribile matrimoniale.
SERVIZI
L'appartamento ha una sua propria cucina completa. Al mattino la
colazione è di tipo self, cioè basta aprire il frigorifero e
prepararsi la colazione da soli. Oltre le normali dotazioni per la
colazione, tipo fette biscottate, biscotti Mulino Bianco, marmellata
fatta in casa, spremute di frutta Santal, caffè, the, è presente
presente una macchina del caffè Americana con caffe Maxwell. Il
servizio cambio lenzuola nel caso di permanenza per più di un giorno è
offerto due volte a settimana. Non esistono fornelli a gas ma solo
piastre elettriche. Alla ricezione dei clienti verrà dato un buono per
poter consumare a solo 15€ a persona un pasto completo (pranzo o cena)
da Anselmo. In pratica andrete a mangiare direttamente a casa di una
delle più brave cuoche umbre (la moglie di Anselmo). Vendite

Bomarzo is located on the left bank of the Tiber river, overlooked by
the Cimini mounts volcanic group from which has been originated the
peperino rocky spur on which it place itself. Panoramic placed at 828
feets on the sea level Bomarzo has a wedge shape, tipic during the
middle age in Lazio. Bomarzo overlooks in turn the Tiber valley and
the A1 highway (the sun highway) from which is about 4 miles far, just
at Attigliano you can take the highway and reach Rome in about 40 min.
The name Bomarzo derivates from the ancient “Polymartium” or in other
words the Mars City (Martium = Mars & Poly = City by the Roman’s
language), maybe because in these lands the worship of this divinity
was very strong.
This apartment is located obviously in the historic center of Bomarzo,
just at the bottom of the town, the sleeping room window looks over a
little panoramic square from which you can extend your look down to
the Tiber Valley, Attigliano, and in front, the Appennini mounts group.
Because the apartment is located at the end of the road, it is not a
cross point inside Bomarzo town, this guarantees an incredible quite,
in a day you can count about 1-5 pedestrians.
Regarding the Bomarzo History, the most important architectural turn
was done during the ‘500’ by the Orsini Family. The famous leader
Giovanni Corrado Orsini received Bomarzo and Chia by the sharing of
the goods with his uncle by father Ulisse Orsini. Giovanni Corrado
starts a new era in the urbanization of Bomarzo and buy the lower
little valley where his son Pierfrancesco will place the “Sacred
forest”, actual named “ The monsters park”. The Monsters park is an
unique work, it was done by Vicino Orsini, keen erudite, poet and
learned man, clever leader, passionate of exoteric science, from which
mind born this idea of the “wondering villa”. Huge and anxiously stone
pictures, at that time colored, are placed between the forest. The
meaning and the author of these anxiously and strange sculptures
living in the sacred forest are actually unknown. The practical
realization should be attributed to the Architect Pirro Logorio from
Napoli. From Bomarzo, located few minutes far from the A1 highway &
the Orte – Viterbo super-road. it is possible to reach easily Viterbo,
the Vico lake, Soriano nel Cimino just on the top of Cimino mount
(3252 feets on the sea level) where it is possible to visit the
biggest beech-trees forest of Europe. Romans used this forest to build
the famous Empire navies. Going north it is possible to reach
Montefiascone where the famous Est Est Est vined was born, the Bolsena
lake, Orvieto, Ercole & S.Stefano harbours on the Tirreno sea. On the
other bound going to Terni in few minutes we are in Umbria and taking
the E45 road it is possible to cross it all until S.Marino, Fano, the
Adriatic sea. Going down to Attigliano and taking the A1 highway we
can go to Rome in about 40-50 minutes.
ROOMS
Our offer is of 5 bed places in a single independent apartment. 3 Bed
are located in a large bedroom with panoramic window, (a double bed +
a single bed) the other two are in the living – kitchen room trough a
big double bed arm-chair.
SERVICES
The apartment has his own kitchen. At the morning the breakfast is a
self –type breakfast, i.e. just open the freezer and prepare your
breakfast. There are toasts and biscuits, home made jam, fruit juice,
Italian coffee, the, and there is also an American style coffee
machine with Maxell coffee. The linen change for booking times over
one day is offered twice in a week. In the apartment there are not gas
kitchen stoves but only electric stoves. At the registration it will
be offered a bonus to eat by Anselmo at 15€. (15€ at lunch, 15€ at
diner). Practically you will taste the “works” of one of the most
famous woman-cook of Umbria. (Anselmo wife!). Real Estate. We are
